Day 2

Pandas & Chengdu Culture | Discover the Heart of Sichuan

Start your day with Chengdu’s most famous resident — the giant panda. Visit the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, where you can observe pandas eating bamboo, playing, and relaxing in a natural-style environment. Your guide will introduce the fascinating story of panda conservation and explain why these animals have become a symbol of China. Continue to Wuhou Shrine, a historic site dedicated to Zhuge Liang, one of the most respected figures from the Three Kingdoms period. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Sichuan cultural experience. Taste authentic Sichuan cuisine and watch the famous Sichuan Opera Face-Changing Performance (Bian Lian) — an incredible art form known for its mysterious and dramatic mask changes.

Day 3

Ancient Wisdom of Sichuan | Dujiangyan

Today you will discover one of China’s greatest ancient achievements. Visit the Dujiangyan Irrigation System, a UNESCO World Heritage Site built over 2,000 years ago. Unlike many ancient projects that disappeared over time, Dujiangyan continues to provide water management for the Chengdu Plain today. Walk along the ancient canals, bridges, and historical sites while learning how this incredible engineering system transformed Sichuan into one of China’s most fertile regions. Enjoy a slower-paced cultural experience before returning to Chengdu.

Day 4

Leshan Giant Buddha | A Journey Through Buddhist Heritage

Today’s journey takes you to one of Sichuan’s most impressive historical treasures. Travel to Leshan, home to the world-famous Leshan Giant Buddha. Carved into a cliff face over 1,000 years ago, this enormous Buddha statue represents one of the greatest achievements of ancient Chinese stone carving. Explore the Buddha area and visit Lingyun Temple, learning about the Buddhist traditions and stories behind this remarkable site. Enjoy local Sichuan cuisine during the journey and experience another side of Sichuan’s food culture. Return to Chengdu in the evening.

Modern Chengdu & Departure | Final Memories of Sichuan
